Theater review by Naveen Kumar A play can be like a symphony, rapturous in a way that surpasses logic. The play moves the action, and the audience, from room to room in Fefu’s home — which in this case will be different locations in our Union Street clubhouse. Fefu and Her Friends is one of the most beloved plays of the late nine-time Obie Award-winning Cuban-American dramatist María Irene Fornés. Set in 1935, the play explores friendships between a group of women as they gather at the country home of Stephany (“Fefu”) Beckmann. University Theatre auditions are open to all currently enrolled NC State students regardless of race, ethnicity, identity, or ability.
