Tootsie is a 1982 American comedy film directed by Sydney Pollack and starring Dustin Hoffman. Hard to remember more than 30 years on, but on its release it made a ton of money.

But with The Broadway League reporting that the average ticket buyer is 40.6 years old, movie properties geared to those who were adults in the early 1980s are not likely to woo people on the younger side of that divide.
