By Earlier this year I made a few of these small Arts and Crafts tables from some reclaimed wood.
Bubbles and Dust Beware! At the time I only had a chance to brush on one coat of finish, which I did rather quickly. However, if you're not careful, small air bubbles can mar the beauty of the finish permanently.
It can also be used over polyurethane finishes, so you can change the color of your finished wood, without removing the existing finish. It's an oil-based, clear finish that's applied in several coats after staining, and is fast-drying and appropriate for any indoor wood surfaces, such as cabinets, bookcases, trim, and doors.
Minwax polyurethane is a protective varnish that is used to seal the wood stain.
As a result, it felt a little rough to the touch, so today Leigh Ann and I went back and took care of the dust and bubbles that had made it feel so rough. Minwax® PolyShades® enhances wood grain by combining beautiful rich stain color and long-lasting polyurethane protection in one easy step.
